Drawing and writing

Family Portrait: Amy, Eric, Espen, & Petri
One of his first attempts at writing his name without a model.
Writing his name and planning colors for his coloring book. _________________________________________________________ Espen has definitely followed the "typical boy" pattern of development. It has been so fun to see it in action after learning about early developmental milestones and early childhood stages throughout college, and working with preschoolers for so many years. He focused way more on learning to crawl, walk and climb in his first year and a half than he did on speaking. I was getting worried there for a bit and even started doing some speech-language therapy with him at about 15 months to boost his expressive skills. I now have no concerns for his language and feel that he could teach some of my elementary age students a thing or two! He has continued on his trend of preferring sports and rough & tumble activities to seated school work. Recently, he has developed an interest in coloring, drawing, writing, and learning the alphabet. Woohoo! Each kiddo certainly learns it all at his/her own pace. I'm just glad we're finally branching out.
