Love and Logic says that if you let your child help you with things from the beginning, he/she'll be more willing and more likely to help you when he/she gets older. Let's hope they're right, because it takes at least twice as long and is certainly five times messier to have help washing dishes! But he sure does love to play in the water so I figure it's worth a try.
